I'm not sure if I follow.

Here's what I interpreted:

"I believe that management consultants eliminate non value adding activities by increasing operational efficiency."

Am I right? If yes or no, please do elaborate as to what your query is and we'll try ro sort it out.

Hey there !

This is a question which has pervaded my life more often than I can count.

The honest answer to this question is that consultants aren’t just paid just for their “intelligence”, “caliber”, “ potential” etc; if that was the case then all major corporations and governments would have been led by former consultants.

It’s actually pretty simple, you get a bunch of good guys who are supremely committed, who are relentless, who won’t stop at anything till they solve the given problem statement. Their job is to solve it, no matter what. Because in the professional world, “smartness” is built with experience, hard-work, and continuous learning.

Another reason corporations choose to have consultants is because we bring fresh external perspective which we have developed over several cross-functional projects. So we are supposed to have an un-biased opinion about problems.

Lastly it’s for our lifestyle, there is a certain disciplined lifestyle you need to have to excel at this job.

So to sum it up: Your relentless commitment to solve a problem, your talent and your lifestyle are the reasons corporations need consultants to solve their problems.
