Opportunity cost in Consutling

Hi,

In one of Kevin Jon's live-streams we were discussing the opportunity cost as a reason why Consultants tend to move out as they are able to demand higher wages / better working hours in other areas.

While I agree this is true, if you were to stay in Consulting and eventually become a partner at the big 4, how much would they earn? Would this outweigh the opportunity cost elsewhere?

Hi James,

Partner salary certainly is a good compensation, as, if you do a good job at the top consulting firms you might well earn a 7 figure salary.

However, at this point you might also be in a VP position at a large company, a Partner position at a private equity fund, etc. and earn similar income.
