Hello,

about to go into consulting hopefully next year. I want to start the process by networking as much as possible.

Anybody has any advice on how to do this? 😍

Bye

- go to firm events

- be very open minded to new people and different opinions

- make yourself intereseting - get the new contact to remember you - first impression counts!!!

- do not try too hard - make conversations feel likeable

- remember their name

- find out a way to contact them afterwards / LinkedIn/ Social media

yw 🤗

@habta__

yes, good points!

Adding to this is the importance to actually get in touch with the contact. Keep some kind of connection to him/her if it is a relevant chance for yourself / your business.

I used to study at Vlerick Business School, Belgium.

We were offered a lot of business events, in which we were able to meet potential employers.

Find events like this, networking events, expertise events etc.

They're easy to be found on LinkedIn, even more so if you'd ask for some info through 1st or 2nd connections working at the firm you'd like to meet.

Post-event contact, here's an old-fashioned trick:

Gather business cards, use the back of the cards to quickly write down what you were talking about.

It'll give you a reminder of what to mention when recontacting the contact person, and will make sure the connection lasts.

Good luck!
