Does anyone have experience in getting into management consulting in smaller cities? How do you do that?

And how do you network with fewer events happening?

Hi and thanks for your question.

Usually in small cities they focus on one or two types of industries. For example steel production or tech solutions companies.

You can research and see which industry/ies is/are most prevelant and fastly growing in the small city, and network with the leaders of these industries.

You can also become a member of the city's chamber of commerce and attend their events.

I hope that helps.

I’m not sure what the question means exactly, but I’ll take a jab at it.

Consulting as a profession doesn’t depend on your demographics. However if you’re asking from the perspective of reaching out to Consulting big-wigs from a small town, I believe the process is same.

“Network everywhere and prepare for case interviews”

Hope this helps !
